I spent a long time feeling intimidated by Gatsby. I think it has something to do with the fact that I'm not yet comfortable with GraphQL and I hadn't worked with a Gatsby site from scratch until just last night.
What took me so long? Gatsby has a reputation for great docs and an awesome developer community. After digging in a little, I concur. They've done a great job of making the Get Started tutorial beginner-friendly. There are no assumptions that you know React or have command line tools installed on your computer.
I'm on part three of the tutorial and I'm starting to understand why people enjoy Gatsby so much.
One lesson I've gotten out of this is, just start.
I already knew that, but every once in a while I need a good reminder. Skills come from experience. The sooner you start, the sooner new ideas and concepts can start to feel normal and comfortable.
